The Book is Here!
This is a book about understanding big ideas through concrete experience of nature, culture and place.
I am thrilled to announce that Growing Whole Children in the Garden: Seasonal Explorations from Peregrine School is now available on our website and on Amazon! To celebrate the release, we are hosting a virtual launch party. We invite you to join us to raise a glass from our respective locations and make potato, citrus and junk prints. We’ll be demonstrating this project (one of so many!!) from the book, which is fun for children and adults. You can make wrapping paper, holiday cards, gift tags or artworks with us.
Save the date for Sunday, December 13th
4pm Eastern / 1pm Pacific
Join us then on Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85670290068
Growing Whole Children in the Garden offers easy-to-do activities for families and educators to create meaningful experiences with their children. The book forwards a joyful vision of connecting with nature and our diverse world through seasonal planting, harvesting, cooking and cultural celebration. The tools, practices and reflections inside have been developed by Lorie Hammond and her community over 50 years of teaching, from nursery school to graduate level. Hammond is the co-founder and director of Peregrine School, a progressive school in Davis, CA.
